uncertainty

Lately, I feel like that has been the theme in my life. I am uncertain on where I should be, what I should be doing, and have been trying to figure out the purpose of this crazy life! I am not sure of where I am supposed to be going or what direction to head in. When I was younger I always had huge dreams of success and happiness and I wonder why I am not quite there yet. But just because Im not where I thought I would be doesn't mean where I am now is not a stepping stone for whats to come...
I am finally starting to feel less anxious and worried about the future now that I am beginning the Path of Surrender. What I have learned is that you can search all your life without getting any of those questions answered. No matter where I thought I would be after college or in 5 years, God has a different plan. God has a purpose and a plan for each of us. If we Surrender to Him, God will lead us on the path we are supposed to be on. In order to do this we have to be willing and let him take full control. This has been a daily struggle for me to start listening to God and what he wants for me, not what I think I want for myself. God has a way bigger plan for me than I can even imagine. I just have to follow him and uphold righteousness as he directs me.
I am reading a book by Joni Lamb called Surrender that has inspiring real-life experiences of people surrendering their life to God when everything seems so hopeless and God showing them encouragement for a soon discovered purpose for their life. I have learned that to surrender to God fully, it takes him taking over all areas of your life and prayer for constant submission. When they let God take the reins, they find PEACE, POWER, and PURPOSE.
I cannot wait to see God's plan for me unfold. I am willing to let him be the decision maker because I do not trust my own.
YOUR FAITH WILL SEE YOU THROUGH!

GNO

This past weekend my BEST girlfriends and I stayed down town at the W Hotel Dallas. It was our Christmas present to each other and it was so much fun!

This was in the lobby about to walk to dinner at Kenichi

After dinner at Ghostbar that overlooks downtown Dallas.

I am so blessed to have such loyal, trustworthy, encouraging, fun, beautiful, giving, and funny friends.

Thanksgiving Break

My mom's 50 th birthday was earlier this month and unfortunately since I live in Dallas, I
was not able to celebrate with her. However, when I was home for Thanksgiving this past weekend, my brother, sister, and I made a delicious dinner for her. We prepared everything for her and sat her down to a dinner with a 1958 theme (hence the year she was born).

Dinner consisted of a yummy salad my brother and I created that I recommend you try: leafy lettuce, carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, sliced roasted almonds, feta cheese, and raspberry vinaigrette.

My brother grilled delicious rib-eyes while I made sweet potato fries, spaghetti squash, and crescent rolls.

I did some researching on the year 1958 and found important events, hit songs, popular movies, famous people's b-days, etc. and decorated the dining room with all my findings.

F.Y.I. here are some of the things I stumbled upon:

The peace symbol was designed and created

Elvis was inducted into the U.S. Army

Sputnik fell to earth

VISA/AMEX were introduced

These were the beautiful cupcakes my sister made for dessert. She got the idea from a book that has fabulous decorating cupcake ideas. We used airheads, twizzlers, and M&Ms to make them look like Christmas ornaments.

We wanted to give back to my mom for ALL that she has given us. She is the most selfless person I know and she deserves all this and more! We had such a good time together and ended the night perfectly with a Christmas movie.

High-maintenance Men

Spanx for guys?!? We know women try everything from tummy tucks to under wear that sucks you in, but how far are men willing to go? These new shirts from Equmen are made to make a guy appear to have a six-pack. How well do you think these will sell?
